Rogue Idea

Well I heard about this couch to 5k program from a forum i’m on and so i decided i’m going to try it.  i made a very super sad attempt at it today and it totally kicked my ass.  i am completely out of shape and didnt even last 10 minutes (supposed to be 25-30 minutes per work out in this program).  So yeah I will probably stuck on being on ‘week 1′ stuff for quite a while until i can do it without feeling like killing myself.  beside that it was starting to rain and my ears were getting too cold to stay out while still feeling comfortable.  I was with frankie and arisu and they both did way better than me, lol.  so i have to a lot to work on.

speaking of arisu she has been much better lately about guarding her food and toys.  I’ve taught her ‘drop it’ recently and so she has learned to drop things.  I had to slowly work up from toys to her bones and food and some things she tries to get like pens and stuff she shouldnt be playing with.  that along with feeding her by hand every once in a while has made her a lot less crazy about guarding her food and things.  shes also more easily able to focus back on me and not be so ‘obsessed’ with her current thing she is watching/guarding.  today she was guarding her bowl of food and i asked her to go in her crate and she did!  shes also dropped bones for me (that she wouldve attacked anyone for in the past) and other things that i really didnt think would be easy for her to give up already.  so that is progressing really well!

frankie gave me a tripod for my camera for valentines day so I am going to try to make some little videos of her doing stuff or learning new stuff from now on =)

Well when I got this domain it was on sale at Yahoo for 3 dollars a year. I got it for a few years and now they said they want to automatically renew my domain subscription for like i dont know 2x.xx dollars a year. And also notified me of the price change to come this summer that will bring the price of domain at yahoo to about 35 dollars a year. Apparently when you get a domain from them NOW, you will pay 9.xx, so 10 dollars a year per domain for up to 5 years. After that time expires, you will be automatically billed (automatic, for your ‘convenience’) at the regular rate of 34.95 a year per domain). Crazy, I know.

So I had to transfer my domain over to namecheap which is good because now they are all together and I dont have to keep up with different accounts. The transfer took about 3-4 days though and thankfully it went through correctly cause I don’t want to wait till my domain expires at yahoo and then they would bill me for another year or something.

Besides starting my last semester of undergraduate school (yay!) Nothing else has really been going on. My dad wants to frame a bunch of old pictures he has and after lots of looking around I decided I was just gonna do it myself. the custom services for cutting multi openings in mats were either too expensive or okay priced – but required bulk orders. So once I’m done with that I will post some pictures of all the hard work I did!

Okay well I kind of have a busy week this week I have two tests coming up and I also want to get started on my Mcat stuff again since I have been kind of ignoring that lately.

A few days ago a friend told me about how houses in her neighborhood were being burglarized regularly like clock work.  This got me thinking about some alarm/home monitoring systems again.  I had been keeping this idea in the back of my head but I never had the money to do it or really look into it.  Well I found a website that can sell a GE Home Security System and with these systems you can monitor your house with wireless camera and motion detectors for only about 30-40 dollars a month. It comes with glass break detectors too and a wireless remote in some packages. The GE Alarm System that is available will alert you that someone has set off the alarm even if you are not home so you know right away something has happened at home. The systems also can come with a lot of other features like wireless control over temperature, lighting or appliances in the home that you can access to turn on or off wirelessly through a remote. So anyways I think I’ll be looking more into this GE Home Security stuff later to see if I want to talk my parents into it. I doubt it though with things being pretty rough financially around here but then again, my dad’s been wanting some security stuff around the house too.

well , i havent written in here in a while now since i’ve been caught up with other stuff going on lately but everytime i come to post i have to do a wp update again because they do an update every other month it seems like – probably even more frequent than that.  Frank moved down here a little more than a month ago and so i’ve pretty much been spending almost every day with him since then mostly just doing random stuff but having a lot of fun.  of course we’re starting to return back to normal slowly now and stop acting ilke we’re in ‘vacation’ mode.  arisu really loves frank being here too and so we’ve been having a lot of fun together and even brought arisu to a dog park a few times lately.

so i decided ill do a little bit of job hunting and see what i can get since this semester is over and i pretty much have nothing to do anymore after the next two weeks.  i was still kind of thinking if i want to or not but i figured now would be a good time to put some more stuff on my resume so when i graduate i can actually have some sort of small tiny chance of getting a job.  okay well thats all for now, i know this is short but theres just too much stuff to update on so i wont lol .

Since Frank has moved here now I am trying to look for some options and different places to get some furniture at good prices to save money. He has some settlement payments coming in from a lawsuit that his dad won a long time ago so I wanted to see if there was any way we could get all that money now instead of in long term payments. Anyways I found this website that lets you sell annuities or other similar things like lottery future payments to get the money immediately so you can use it right away.

I’m thinking I’ll tell him to look it up later and see if he can get a free quote and to know how much that would cost since the money would really help him out until he can get a job here. That way he can sell annuity on this set of payments and another one that he also gets from something his dad had before too. It says that it would take around 45 to 90 days to be approved then another 5-10 days to get the money but that would probably still be better than waiting for the payments later on.

Well clearly I haven’t been here in a long time but a lot of stuff has happened like Frank is going to move here next weekend!  So I’m pretty excited about that even though I am a little bit sad that I can’t be home for Arisu’s birthday next Saturday.  But when I get back we are going to celebrate for her then.  Been feeling kind of aimless lately ever since I decided I didn’t want to graduate until May.  Still haven’t figured out what I want to do yet but I guess I still have some time but I am going to try to keep looking around and try to narrow things down at least.

OH yeah and of course there was the whole hurricane Ike thing but I wasn’t all that affected (luckily) since I was only without power for 3 days.  It was still quite an experience since even with power at my own house there’s not much I could do that whole week anyways because nothing around here was open.

Well I guess I didnt have much to say afterall, but I felt like checking in here and coming to delete the spam that gets through when I’m not looking.

well last night i spent a lot of time looking up some graduate programs and stuff to do after i graduate.  i’m starting to get excited about it, lol.  ended up not going to bed until like 4 am and then i woke up at around 7:30-8 because they were cutting the grass outside super early today.  i guess i don’t blame them since it felt really good outside earlier.  one good thing is that they are really fast and get it all done in like 30 minutes whereas before id be hearing the lawn being worked on from like 8 -12.

so anyways im really excited about graduating now even though i dont think ill go into med school right away.  i’m looking into maybe getting my master’s first and then trying for it but i’m not sure yet.  im also excited about just getting out and getting a regular job and actually being paid more than like nothing.  well besides just school going on nothing else has really been happening.  frankie is finally moving here in less than2 months now so i am really excited about it too.  i think today i will go to the library and study if i feel like making the drive there.

Well recently with Frank moving down here we’ve been looking into some investments we could make and trying to compare our options.  One of the things we ran across was the option to buy gold. Apparently gold increases its value faster than money does (just sitting, not in any investment though) and it’s a pretty good idea to buy gold if you want to have something you know is going to increase in value. I would probably get some too if I had enough money too but I don’t think I can handle that big of an investment right now.

Anyways if you want to buy any gold for investments there are websites that help you do that. Normally you have to open an account with these companies but they are usually free and might charge you a fee to do other things relating to the transactions afterwards. The website I found to buy gold on has guarantees against theft and some other features to help secure your investment after you sign up with them and make a purchase. The gold is stored in a safe place by the company and they charge you a fee to store the gold for you.

Well happy july 4th!  Today is my first day on a very tight mcat study schedule.  How come I’m not studying right now?  Well cause I am supposed to be at YMCA right now but totally forgot its not an everyday thing.  So anyways I’m on here waiting for a couple of computer things to finish until 10 or so and eating yogurt.  I pretty much will be studying around 7 hours a day , daily, so hopefully I can do it so it’ll help me focus and do good on my test later.

Besides that I have been looking at stuff to get so i can do my oil change.  i know i always say im going to and i havent yet.  So in the next week I’ll be gathering supplies so i can finally do it.  I’m thinking about recording it in case i die then everyone will at least know exactly what happened.  Theres a lot of random stuff that i want to get like one of those rollie things to lay back on, i am not going to lay on the concrete – its dirty.  and then like until late yesterday i didnt know that i needed a special wrench to get to my oil filter, so i gotta go buy that too now.

Nothing else has really been going on besides that I”m been trying to eat more to keep my stomach feeling better and I feel like I’m getting fat.  havent been playing tennis which makes me sad, but i will re work that into my schedule hopefully next week.  well I still got an hour left before study time so I gotta get off here and get ready. =)

A while ago I was pretty riled up when my door was egged twice in a row. I was thinking of putting all these crazy security things around my house like cameras and lights. Well I found a place that sells a spotlight but unfortunately these are probably way too big to use practically around my house, but I’m making a note of it anyways for reference. This website sells all different types of spotlights and flashlights that you can use for working or security or any reason. They also have boat lights for sale there which would be a good idea if you go out at night or anytime its dark. I remember we were on a speed boat with my family once and it started to get pretty dark out there and we had some problems finding out way back. This was when I was little though and we didn’t have GPS or a spot light either. You can also buy a police light set from the website, including other police light equipment like those long flashlights that have pepper spray in them too.

This reminds me too I need a new flashlight for Arisu. I bought her one of those led flashlights and somehow it died because I think I dropped it too many times. I should probably get a new one sometime soon since it only works half the time now and I have to hit it a little to get it going.
