Alright so I figured that being an officer is gonna be a good thing cause then I get to meet a lot of people and so when we decided to have a pool party bbq event I was pretty damned excited about meeting ‘a lot of people’.  So what I didn’t expect was that … exactly what I wanted to happen – ACTUALLY happened!  It was kind of a weird experience , first of all I’m not really used to going to parties where I only planned on knowing like 3 people and so I didn’t really expect things to go that well.  But when I got there,I was pleasantly surprised to experience almost everyone introducing themselves to ME.  So I totally didn’t have to take any initiative cause people just kept coming up to say hi and introducing themselves.  That.  Was pretty awesome and was definitely a lot of fun.  So out of all the people I met I actually really got along with one guy who was there as a guest so he wasn’t a student with us but we ended up talking and during our conversation I suddenly had this BRILLIANT idea for a book!  Okay so maybe he suggested jokingly this one topic should be the title of a book but then I had like a weird light bulb moment where I had this perfect idea that would totalllllllly work (….i think, lol).

So now I’m sitting here almost 2 weeks later and I wonder – should I try to go ahead and write it?  I mean it would be easy to write as far as content goes but I’m not really sure if I have time to write something like this right now when school going on next week.  Plus do I really want to start another project before finishing my 100th attempt at my current one?  Hmmm we’ll see I guess.

So today I’m bringing the kids out to petsmart and then i’m gonna clean up the house a bit especially the bathroom and all the kids’ laundry need to be washed too.  But one last thing before I go that I wanted to document is my experience talking to someone recently that has sort of put my head in a slow spin the past week or so.  You know how sometimes you meet someone and you’re like….man this person is pretty nice and you wanna be friends but you have like….this tiny tiny super micro inkling in your head that is like “YOU BETTER NOT!”  Yeah we’ll it’s way too late to listen to that tiny voice by now but I have to admit I did hear it and chose to ignore it before.  Now I’m put into a very….whats the word.  Okay I’ll use ‘weird’ for now.  I’m in a very weird position – at a crossroad and I have to decide what I want to do but both choices suck?  I mean…hmm.  I don’t know what I’m saying.  I need to shower now so I can head to petsmart in time.

So first we go to her apartment to drop off the food we bought while getting my fan.  It needed to be refrigerated.  Then we go on this ridiculously long search for a bank of america so that i could get some cash. It turns out they are pretty rare in that area and we ended up having to go into a mall to use the ATM in there.  Then we finally head to the club and I immediately meet 3-4 strippers that she knew there.  I watched them go on stage one at a time and only had a few drinks.  Well it was kind of a weird experience at first but things that were weird turned into normal surprisingly fast.  First of all within 30 seconds of entering I was introduce to a topless stripper who was pretty attractive.  But soon I realized most of them were pretty much all the same level of attractiveness – which made me much more picky I guess on who I thought I liked.  I ended up only tipping like one that I really liked a lot.   So the second weird thing was all the men there.  Not that I didn’t expect there to be a lot of men there, but I have never ACTUALLY been surrounded by so many men at once who were all drinking and wanted to see tits and ass.  A few of them tried to get my attention or talk to me when my friend left to go to the bathroom or get drinks/etc.  I talked to one guy who was close but I just ignored most of them that looked either creepy or way too drunk.

So i would say it was an interesting experience but I’m not really interested in going back any time soon. And I can definitely see how it’s an addicting environment though.  Oh and they had some sort of buffet thing there but I didn’t eat anything so I don’t know how it is but it seemed like it probably wasn’t that bad.

Okay what else…Oh yeah So I went to my first gay bar ever shortly after that to see a comedy drag show.  So that was interesting too.  I enjoyed it though , it was actually a lot of fun.  I then went to see my second drag show just last weekend and was ‘bar hopping’ for the first time.  The whole idea of…going out to drink is super new to me.  And kind of doesn’t make any sense.  I’ve only ever had alcohol at private parties and never really drink much in public – much less go to a place specifically TO drink around a bunch of random people, lol.  Sooo not really my thing but if I was going with someone I liked and I’d probably would feel like going every now and then.  Shortly BEFORE that I went to my first BAR ever. And well that didn’t turn out very fun at all because I totally drank way too much and was drunk off my ass.  I can’t even remember exactly which bar or bars we went to…  So yeah not really my thing.  Well I’m off for now…

Okay so I started this post at night and then quit cause well, I couldn’t see.  So it’s morning now and thank god my friend came and got me and now I can see again.  Bad news is I still have to buy new glasses soon cause these are REALLY scratched up now and not even the same color on one part of the rim due to the soldering. I was gonna write about something else too but I forgot now.

Since I didn’t do ANYTHING last night due to not being able to see, I have to get to work today =(

I went to what i expected was a party at my friend’s ex co-worker’s house ( i know…lol) with her and another friend.  We got there after horrendous traffic and almost two hours of driving.  I was pretty amused when we pulled up and there were people just sitting in a little circle in random chairs in the front yard.  But anyways a guy offered me his seat so i took it and began drinking a beer.  Somehow like 2 hours passed like this – just sitting and chatting about nothing and drinking beer.  It was kind of a weird experience because not only did I never imagine myself in any sort of similar situation but it was JUST like in the shows I’ve seen where this happens.  People on that street actually hang out on their front yard/porch and drink/smoke/hang out.  AND the neighbors all know each other – not just names and faces, but actually KNOW each other.  I found that pretty amusing since most communities are full of families that mostly keep to themselves these days.  I guess when I moved into my house we did get  a neighborhood welcome and introductions but no one actually ‘hangs out’ with each other.  But then again we all don’t hang out in the front yard either and I guess that is how you get to know other people.  Well I have more to talk about but I’ll try to post it another time.  just thought id document this random experience

Overall I had a pretty good week.  Pretty productive I guess with working out and studying.  Although right now my brain is pretty tired so I guess I will take a break this weekend from studying.  I’m pretty stressed because my financial aid didnt disburse ontime so hopefully that happens soon too.

So I am thinking since I’m doing a lot of new things in Dallas I would keep track of them or chronicle them here, sort of.  I have to say that getting out of my comfort zone away from home has been kind of a crazy experience so far.  Instead of making a bunch of posts and clogging up the blog I guess I will just recap all of ‘first time’ experiences I can remember right now to start with…

Well okay I definitely had a ‘first time’ event just last night actually.  I had been waiting for a friend to email me back about borrowing her anatomy textbook for the rest of the year.  After a few random events she ended up not having time to meet me before her vacation and I had to go pick it up from her house after a relative left it on the porch for me.  So I went out and drove far ass into the middle of nowhere and when I came home I was walking towards the building and the guy on the top floor was on his balcony.  I had met him before and seen him like 7-8 times saying hi in passing this whole time.  We kind of said hi and talked for a bit, he said he was moving out this summer and was packing all this things today (yesterday).  I said good luck with that and went into my apartment.  So since my tennis partner hurt her back the day before she couldn’t come lay by the pool with me and I didn’t feel like going alone.  I thought about going upstairs to ask this guy to go with me.  BUT then I heard a very loud, deliberate 3 knocks on the door.   I thought it was my roommate – maybe she ‘locked’ herself out again somehow.  Anyways so I open the door and theres no one there.  I’m like okay – then I notice a sticky post it note on my door.  At first I thought it was saying something about my delivery (at which point I thought god what did my roommate do now wtf) but then it that word turned out to be ‘are very’, not delivery, lol.

I had to read the note like 3 times before i actually “read it” I guess – It  said they thought I was ‘very cute’ with a ‘rockin body’ <insert winky face drawing..> and if i wanted to have some ‘fun’ to come over.  if not then ‘its all good’ too.

Then it was signed with an initial and nothing else.  So that was the first time i was asked/invited for sex by a post it note from a stranger.  Actually i think thats the first time anyone has asked or invited me for sex at all lol.  my initial reaction was  wtf – do i look like ‘that type’ of person?  my second reaction was who is this? and then after that i just laughed about it.  I’m pretty sure its the guy I talked to right before that, hes the only guy i’ve met at the apartments this whole time and the only other person i’ve met was the girl across and down the floor from me.  so maybe he did it cause hes moving now anyways?  anyways im glad hes moving because now i feel like he might have been watching me or something cause i know hes always up there on his balcony with his dog and it faces the area where everyone parks.  So hopefully he moves soon so i dont have to run into him and act like ‘its all good’ lol.

So this leads me to another awkward situation i found myself in a month or so ago in April.  One day I had gotten a flyer for a sorority life info night/event over in the residential hall.  Well I had kind of wanted to join one when i was at UH but I didn’t have the money to live on campus in the ‘House’ so I didn’t really look much into it.  It’s gonna be kind of hard to join as a post bacc student since ill be the oldest freakin person joining but i thought what the heck it wont hurt to go to an info night – its just info right?  So I kept the date for it in mind for a while and I remember it was right after one of my major exams.  I kind of went back and forth – I was kind of nervous actually because I hadn’t really prepared or anything for it and I know they normally ask you a lot of questions about yourself when you meet different sorority members.

Well I said what the hell just go and made myself drive over there across campus at like 10 pm and went anyways (why the meeting was so freakin late at night? no idea).  I get there and guess what – im the ONLY one who went to the info night!  I guess since this is still kind of a small school they won’t have as big a turn out as i expected like i would at UH.  So it ended up being me, and 25 blonde hair blue eyed sorority girls asking me about my life and talking about school with me and ‘going greek’.  They each introduced themselves to me and I said I can’t remember everyone but I will try.  Then the girl said they can do it again if I want .. I was like no, that would just confuse me lol.  Well I did learn a lot about what goes on and what happens, how to join, when, etc.   That was probably one of those most awkward feeling situations I’ve ever been in, lol.  Plus they all sat around and next to me so that made me feel a little bit crowded.  So now I feel like well….the rest of the process CANT be more awkward than that right?  lol.  I have to submit an application in a few weeks so I guess we will see what happens.  So that was the first time I ever went to a greek related event (and as its only guest…).  looking back i guess it was kind of funny lol. but hell no would i ever want that to happen again !

I always write such super long posts. lol.  But I’ll talk about one more thing that recently happened before I go tonight cause I’m getting a little bit hungry/thirsty.  When I went home two weeks ago I had my first brazilian wax done!  Two weeks before that I was talking to an old friend about meeting up and the topic of waxing came up.  Pretty much the basic ‘have you ever….yeah me neither…yeah i wanna try it too…’ convo that I’ve had a bunch of times with a bunch of different people.  So we were like okay…let’s just make the appointment and do it.  So we did.  The day we were going to well Frank had some issues with the car and we ended up having to reschedule for the following saturday.  I was pretty annoyed because you’re not supposed to shave for like three freakin weeks before your first time waxing or something like that and I really did not want to wait and not shave for another week.

So we had to wait for the following saturday, where we went to pick up my friend and we went to the european wax center in the galleria area.  We both had the same person and I went in first.  So this lady comes out and she brings me into this room with a table in the middle and she asked me how I was doing and blah blah blah, lol. I said okay this is my first time doing it so you might need to give me directions a little.  So she was just like okay just take off your shorts and underwear and lay on the table.  Then I did and she sort of bent my knees outward so it was like my legs making a diamond shape.  Then she just started doing it without really saying much and we talked for 10 minutes about random stuff like the weather, her job, kids, etc and then I flipped over, held my butt cheek open on one side for 2 minutes and then bam I was done!  Now I’m not saying it was COMPLETELY painless, but it wasn’t really that painful at all. I mean out of all the times she ‘pulled the strip’ only 3-4 of those times actually hurt and it was short – like pulling off a bandage.  So overall I was pretty happy with my experience. It was quick and pretty much painless.  So I don’t really know what everyone is fussing about – maybe they just had a person do it badly? or the wrong way?  My friend who went in after me said the same thing as me so I know it’s not just me.  I’m also the last person I’d think of when thinking about high pain tolerance.  Afterwards I was pretty much good to go and do whatever the heck I felt like.   I DO really like it though so I’ve been referring my friends there so I can get credits from my referrals to go next time lol.  I heard about this sugaring or ‘blue wax’ stuff some people use too that is supposed to also work really good and hardly have any pain.  So I guess I am kind of wondering if I just got lucky and got a girl that was good at doing it or maybe it just doesn’t hurt that much anyways?  I don’t know.  I guess I’ll see next time I go since it’ll be in Dallas and have to be a different person.

so my plan is to wake up early and either go out to study or stay at home and study. I’m not sure which one to go with yet. being ‘out’ is a distraction by itself for me but being at home also has some distractions too . one being hte computer.
for some reason i cannot stand facing into a corner if there is something infront of me. i can have the computer off but it bothers me that i have no view. i know im being picky but its just something i hate. i’m going to try to study at home though, i borrowed some ear plugs from frank. i wish i could go out and try that first but i am out of money so i’m trying to save my gas tank for when i really need it.

Even when I suggest to go bike riding he doesn’t want to unless the weather is almost perfect AND he is in the mood to.  I thought exercising was supposed to be about setting good habits, not doing it only when you felt like it.  I know I’m being kind of harsh on myself and him too about this but I’m trying to get in shape and its frustrating when I can’t go out and do stuff everyday and then we end up only doing something active like MAYBE twice a week.  I’m not going to blame Frankie but I gues I am just realizing that I need to get over my issue with going out on my own to do stuff.  I like being with him and having him there to help me but it’s really annoying the hell out of me to not be able to do stuff just cause I don’t wanna do it alone.  I wish I had some gym equipment at my house or something.  I kind of want to  just go outside and run or bike around but after hearing one of my friends talk ab out how she almost was kidnapped while running alone last month I don’t really feel all that great about doing that.

well today i am gonna clean up the house a bit and hopefully arisu doesn’t have an issue with that.  she has had two accidents after the new dyson has been used the last times so hopefully today she won’t do it again.

So a few weeks ago during spreak break I have been pulling TONS of weeds and put down weed and feed and also clean up my dead looking banana trees and bought three more trees that are now planted in the front and back yard.  I also decided that i wanted to plant something nice along the fence between me and my neighbor who has two very unruly and crazy dogs that bark like mad when anyone is around.  I decided on bamboo.  From what I read bamboo shoots only once a year and that time is normally now.  So I searched for a bit and finally found a place to get my bamboo and got some very small ones for cheap but there is enough to kind of spread out along the fence area.  So the other thing I need is a barrier so that the bamboo doesn’t start sprouting up every where later on.  There were no places I could find in the city that was selling it.  So I had to go online and order it.

Once I realized that I wanted to put in my bamboo asap I found a website that says ‘Ships within 48 hours’ on their bamboo root barrier.  This place is called BERKEY SUPPLY and sells landscaping stuff like root barriers, pond supplies and lighting.  The next day after ordering I had an employee call me to clarify some stuff on my order and then he told me he would be getting my order shipped out “TODAY” and it will arive in about four days.

Three days later (business days) I checked my order status expecting to see a ups tracking on my account there but it said that my order had not been shipped yet?  So now my bamboo have been in pots for 5 days at that point and missing time they could be spending strengthening their roots for shoots this Spring.  So I e-mailed them to see if maybe they just didn’t update their website yet.  I found out they had not shipped it yet due to ‘manufacturer delay’ and that will will be shipped ‘tomorrow’ (meaning 5 days after my order and 1 day after it was supposed to arrive).  The barrier was then supposed to arrive TODAY.  I sign into UPS’s tracking system today and see that my delivery has been DELAYED and is rescheduled to ship tomorrow.  It was supposed to be here by now but didn’t even leave the nearest big city until 2 hours ago.

So first of all I will be planning much more long term when doing yard work that involves shipping anything to be safer next time.  Secondly, I won’t be ordering from Berkey Supply or recommending them to anyone because they were so unprofessional in getting my order to me.  The reason I ordered from them is because it said the item was IN STOCK and SHIPS WITHIN 48 HOURS.  It seems they don’t have an issue putting blatant lies on their website though so that people waste time waiting for things that aren’t coming.  Second thing that ticks me off is that I even had the guy CALL ME and talk to me saying he would be shipping it out today.  Uhhhh…why didn’t he check the stock and make sure before he said that??  Then, when they didn’t ship it out, they didn’t bother emailing or calling me to let me know so that I was expecting it to come in on time in 4 days.  They also didn’t apologize for the delay and gave me a ‘two liner’ email saying it would be shipped soon and it was the manufacturer’s delay.

After I finally got the UPS tracking number I saw that it was going to take one week to get to me.  So wait a minute the guy calls me before saying it would arrive in 4 days, but now they send it 5 days later and it is going to take 7 days to get to me?

Needless to say I am completely out of patience and pretty pissed at how shitty their service was getting my product to me.  It better come in tomorrow and I will be making sure that I NEVER order from Berkey Supply again!  Most business give ‘safe estimates’ on times and dates which I would rather have. than be blatantly lied to and have to waste my time.  Instead I thought I was counting on a reliable business because of how prompt they were in SAYING they would ship my product.  Now I’ve waited for 2 weeks (if it comes tomorrow) for something that should’ve arrived 10 days ago.
