my never ending dog food search =(
ever since i got Arisu she has had 4 different dog foods already. first we had the store one which was some weird stuff. but anyways it only lasted a little while. then i got her some nestle purina puppy chow and she was doing okay on that but the bits were too big so i didnt like it. then i got her purina pro plan for small breed puppies and she loved that and she was doing really good on it too. plus the bits were really tiny so it was easier for her. well anyways after i got that for a while, then the whole pet food recall crazies started to be reported every where so of course i freaked out. but luckily i didnt have any treats, or any food or products from any of that huge list of brands recalled.
even though pro plan didnt even have the ingredients involved i still decided to get her some better food just to be on the safe side. anyways i looked and looked and it came down to staying on pro plan, or choosing pro plan selects, wellness, or pmi exclusive. exclusive looked really good but finally i went with wellness because just a few days ago they announced that not just wheat gluten was found to be contaminated but corn gluten was found to be contaminated with the same stuff and some more recalls were made. pro plan and exclusive both have corn gluten but not really that much. i wanted to stay with one of those but i chose wellness because everyday there are more and more brands finding out more stuff so i felt kind of scared.
so i picked what i thought would be the best one for her. but now shes not digesting it really well because her poop has been softish lately and shes been pooping more often too since i’ve put her on it. it seems to be slowing down and i think it might just be that i didnt slowly introduce her to the new food well enough. well now i’m gonna let her be on it a few days more and see if it improves, which hopefully it does so i dont have to find another pet food =( i think i might turn into one of those people who cook for their dogs. not that i would mind, but i dont really have time to learn how to cook right now. maybe after the finals in mid may though.

If you haven’t found the perfect dog food for your dog you may want to consider making her meals at home. Many pets with food allergies itch and have bowel problems that can be cured with homemade food.
